A Sign of Protection or Panic...
We are truly living in historic times. We can not turn on the radio, TV, computer, etc. without hearing about COVID-19
No matter where you live, most likely you see people who are not taking the pandemic seriously, living life as if nothing is going on, and you see people who are taking extra precautions and staying home like we are being advised to.
With all that is going on we still need to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. Whether its going out and getting food and basic needs, to going out and getting fresh air, the CDC recommends that people wear a cloth face covering to cover their nose and mouth while out and about! you can read more here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html#How-to-Protect-Yourself
I have an autoimmune illnesses and sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed when I have to go out to get essentials for me and my family. Since I crochet I went on the hunt for a pattern so I can crochet myself a face mask. I found a nice and easy pattern from Knotmad on Etsy. Exactly what I was looking for. I used 100% cotton yarn and 100% cotton fabric liner, and I left a pocket to insert a replacement mask filter. Filter is not included. Please note, I am not a medical professional and the mask I make are not medical grade. They are not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.* They can be used as an alternative, with filter, to medical grade mask. This mask can also be worn over medically grade mask to add your own flair.

Please be safe. Stay home.
How are you staying protected?
* A cloth face covering is not intended to protect the wearer, but may prevent the spread of virus from the wearer to others. This would be especially important in the event that someone is infected but does not have symptoms.
